🌸 New Beginnings 🌸
Hey everyone!! How’s life been? I’ve been missing you all so much!
You may notice that this website has CHANGED! What do you think of the new aesthetic?
I also got new logos as well (designed by my amazing friend Ruth!)
You know I did like how my blog looked first, but I really wanted to give it a glow up, you know what I mean? I love ethereal art, and I feel like this design really shows what I want this website to feel like!
Like the templates aren’t giving what I want it to give, so a lot of these designs are from Canva.
I want to post more about college life and practicing self care, self love, & mental awareness!
I am really shy when it comes to social media, like showing my face or speaking, but it is something that I am really trying to work on day by day, step by step.
Also! I am going to finally, FINALLY, have an actual schedule set up for my blogs.
So every new blog post will be up every 13th of the month for the rest of 2024!!
(and maybe more than that as well!)
(100% guarantee and if I don’t do that, throw tomatoes at me!)
I originally planned on posting all throughout the summer like I did last year with another self-care series, but as some of you have been aware, my laptop broke down and was being repaired while I was in another country for a few months.
Honestly Ethiopian Airlines sucks like literally my mom and sister had laptops stolen in their luggage :< so I’m kind of glad my laptop was at home.
Soooo I started my first semester in university and honestly it has been quite a journey! Adjusting to everything was quite challenging, it's nothing like PSEO at all!
PSEO for those of you who may be aware is Post Secondary Enrollment Options for students in high school to attend college while gaining both high school and college credits.
I really recommend it if you’re still in high school, but from my personal opinion don’t do things that seem too hard. Do like English classes or subjects that are of interest to you! (Especially if you already know what your major might be in college, find opportunities to do that!)
Last year my schedule was so easy, I was at school from 7 am to 11:00 and then went straight to college for my Writing, Politics, or Principles of Management class (they each had different days or lasted for only half a semester).
On the days I didn’t have any class after 11:00, I would go home and sleep and be happily lazy!!
I miss those naps so much now. I remember that although sometimes class work would be a little challenging at times, senior year was probably the easiest time of my life.
OH HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!!
Now life looks a little different, and to be completely honest I thought it would be very similar and you know, not require me to drive an hour or more to and back.
It has its ups and downs. Adjusting to it was hard at first, new university, new classes, in a new area, a new way to become broke.
I swear to you this school is eating up my pockets lol.
I’m also double majoring (Business Administration + Marketing) and double minoring (Management + Leadership)
so, I have more classes in a semester than most people (about 18 credits).
But, I am learning a lot about how to balance home life, work life, and school while also managing self-care.
So keep an eye out for November and some future content heading your way!
I have so many plans and ideas in my draft folder that I can’t wait to share!
Common questions I have received from some of you is:
1:
“When are you going to make new products queen?”
2:
“I tried to subscribe using your forms below, why doesn’t it work?”
Here are my answers!:
1:
I want to make products and I have been planning to make products for a long time!
There’s just one little itty bitty problem.
Unfortunately, it takes a lot of money to make them!
As of today, I have a long list of products (TOP SECRET hehe) that I am dying to make for you all that each require money and time that is very hard for me to come by.
Like I learned that making 1 FORMULA is like $4,000!
As of my money, I am planning on doing 2 forms of internships (One involves me getting into the digital world of an online platform that I give virtual tours of my university! The other one involves me getting involved with Minnesota’s National History Day, which allows me to mentor middle and high school students for their history presentations!)
I have received numerous opportunities from many different organizations, and I am so grateful for each and every one. But finding time to do opportunities and balance everything can be challenging, but I will pull through!
My current student job involves me calling alumni and informing them of events and donation opportunities.
Another job that I did not start yet involves me being a Personal Care Aide!
So I am excited to start that job soon!
Although I technically do and don’t have 2 jobs, the hours vary, so that’s why I don’t make enough money to fund these projects yet.
I am trying to learn more about how to make products, and how to make ones that are cost effective to both me producing them and to you who (I hope you do!) will buy them.
It's very hard trying to do this alone. I don’t really know other people who are entrepreneurs who have an online business. But I am trying to get connected to other entrepreneurs through my university through their events and conferences. I hope I will meet someone who will help me guide my way.
I have created bonds with such amazing mentors who are helping me navigate life through college and giving me advice to help me into the big career world, so I hope I will also meet others who will help me navigate my way in the pursuit of entrepreneurship (this word is so long.)
2:
As for the subscriptions to emails or memberships, that is a system that I am trying to set up that I have been having trouble with (I am not exactly the best with tech, but I am trying my best!)
I think once I have established nasrina’s oasis a bit more, I will possibly bring these things back with tons of cool stuff for you all to check out! For now I’ll probably delete it, but I will still keep the form at the end in case you want to connect with me!
I also have a google form that allows you to give me some suggestions about possible blog or video content! I love hearing ideas from you and it will help me bring different fields of content for you to enjoy!
So that’s all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed this little update and I’m so sorry with how overdue it has been!
I love you all so much and have a wonderful day!
